An unexpectedly great part about moving to this area of North Carolina is the photographers I've met. Tuesdays Together is part of the Rising Tide Society's push for "community over competition," and encourages creatives and entrepreneurs to meet up and get to know one another.
My move was a huge blessing in disguise; when I see photos from other Tuesdays Together gatherings from Virginia and DC... sometimes there's dozens of people present. Dozens! That's reminiscent of mixers I went to in college where I sat in a quiet corner by myself! I suppose there would be a somewhat different vibe at a gathering of professionals... but I've enjoyed our tiny group meetups here with six or fewer people. In a smaller group, you get to know each other better and more quickly. And that could backfire if you have the wrong kind of people around... thankfully every person I've met so far has been amazing.
When we meet up, we like to photograph each other...
Those last few photos there were taken on some old expired Kodak color 35mm film.
I also get pictures of me! I love seeing everyone's distinct styles come through. Same time, place, lighting... different photographers.
